update microsoft windows media player
Help! My computer froze after updating Windows Media Player and when I tried to get into MP a big window pops?

up saying that in order to get MP 11 I have to validate with Microsoft. Question is if I do this and I get upgraded to 11 will I lose all of my playlists in the older version of Media Player. I need to get my playlists off and onto one of those memory stick things so that I can perform a system restore. I am under a major deadline. Oh, and by the way when I take a playlist on MP and copy it to a removable disk when I click on that removable drive from My Computer it doesn’t show that it had been copied. If anyone can help with both or one of the two I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

You should try VLC media player. It is much better. If you just use it for music try iTunes.
